Overview
After finding himself fascinated with all aspects of the Chinese culture, Jason Tripitikas comes across an intriguing, ancient staff in a pawn shop. He is told by the owner that it was left many years ago, when his grandfather ran the shop, and the mysterious stranger never returned to pick them up. After leaving the shop, Jason is confronted by a street gang, who forces him to return to the shop, resulting in the robbery and murder of the shop owner. However, Jason is able to obtain the staff before the criminals can catch him. As he is running from the gang, he falls off the roof of a building, and when he wakes up, finds himself in ancient China. As the incident leads him deeper and deeper into ancient history, Jason discovers that he plays a very important role in a prophecy that will destroy the tyrannical Monkey King, and restore life to the Chinese people.
