Overview
It is the scorching summer of 1977, and the Son of Sam, a notorious serial killer, is terrorizing New York City. In an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx, fear and suspicion run rampant, and everyone is a suspect. This atmosphere of distrust threatens to erupt into violence as mobsters, punks, homosexuals and others clash. Against this backdrop of terror, two friends attempt to survive. Trapped in an unhappy marriage, Vinny, a hairdresser, engages in extramarital affairs. Meanwhile, Vinny's friend Ritchie embraces a punk lifestyle and earns money by dancing in a gay club. Ritchie's unconventional style and attitude put him at odds with the prevailing culture of the neighborhood and threaten his survival.
