When an FBI chief's son is killed by the mob, he turns to the only person that he knows he can trust: a small town sheriff who was formerly part of his task force. There is a lead in the office and nobody is certain who it is, so an outsider has to be brought in to ferret out the snitch. The lawman then goes undercover, portraying a free lance specialist who wants to be a part of the organization. He proves himself by seeking out a rival group that is at war with the former and carves up a good chunk of their assets. Law enforcement agencies begin to notice the newcomer but do not have any proof of wrongdoing on his behalf. As the man becomes further engrained into the group, he starts to tear it down piece by piece, beginning at the low end and working his way up. The climax is a showdown between the head of the organization, his right hand man and the person who is responsible for providing information to the mob that got the chief's son killed. |
