Overview
Tabloid writer Sid Hudgeons takes us back to the 1950s where we meet Sergeant Ed Exley who recently joined the Los Angeles Police Department. Exley is an honest cop in a town where this attribute is rare. Although he knows he needs to play the game in order to rise up the ranks, he refuses a pay-off from Detective Jack Vincennes who makes dirty money on the side. Rounding out the trio is Officer Bud White who plays a thuggish cop with a vicious temper. In this tale of good versus evil, "L.A. Confidential" compels the viewer to keep up with various storyline twists as we witness countless acts of murder, betrayal, extortion, bribery, abuse, and cover-ups.
