Overview
In the late 1960s, Billy Covington is a Los Angeles helicopter pilot working the traffic beat for a local radio station. Billy gets his pilot's license suspended after numerous safety violations. A mysterious government agent offers Billy a chance to fly again as an undercover pilot for Air America. Air America is a Top Secret government operation in Laos. The company operates as a civilian cover for the U.S. military. In Laos, Billy meets other risk taking pilots, including Gene. Under the auspices of Air America Billy goes on dangerous missions and barely escapes with his life. Meanwhile, a U.S. Senator is conducting an investigation to uncover possible drug smuggling by Air America pilots. Billy decides to quit, but goes on a final risky mission.
