Overview
After Calogero, a young Bronx boy, witnesses a shooting involving a local gangster named Sonny, he finds himself getting involved with Sonny's gang. Against the wishes of Caogero's fater, Sonny takes Calogero under his wing and starts teaching him how to survive on the streets. As Calogero continues to pull away from his family, he finds himself getting into deeper trouble with a group of local boys. Racial tensions start to ignite as Calogero starts dating a black girl who is the sister of one of the boys Calogero and his friends beat up. Sonny continues to mentor Calogero every step of the way.
