Overview
Nicholas Angel is a police officer who is extraordinarily good at his job. In fact, he's so good that the rest of the folks in his London department want him out because he keeps making them look bad. Hence, he is transferred to a sleepy little town where it seems almost nothing exciting ever happens. However, this appearance is deeply deceptive. The people in town are reluctant to welcome Nicholas, but he does receive the immediate warm friendship of slow-witted by big-hearted Danny Butterman, the son of the police chief. When people in town start dropping dead in grotesque and mysterious ways, Nicholas is convinced that something rotten is afoot. With some help from Danny, he intends to find out just what is going on.
