Overview
In Kugluktuk, a town in the Arctic with a population of about 1000, drug use, alcohol abuse, domestic violence, and suicide rates run high. Colonialism closes in on the community and the people are skeptical. Among the new white faces is Russ Sheppard, a teacher on a one-year contract in the struggling town who turns his college lacrosse training into a tool to motivate the students paralyzed by trauma. After some push back, Team Grizzlies comes into existence and through the student lacrosse players the entire community experiences incredible transformation.
