Trailer | Overview Godzilla is a 1998 remake of the Japanese Godzilla movies. This movie that stars Matthew Broderick and Jean Reno is set in New York City instead of Tokyo. The movie begins with a nuclear test in the Pacific followed by reports of a giant creature in Central America. This monster is headed for the United States. Matthew Broderick's character, Dr. Nick Tatopoulous, joins with a French agent to stop Godzilla. They eventually discover that Godzilla has laid eggs in the New York Subway system around Madison Square Garden. These eggs begin to hatch, and the little Godzillas must be stopped by an air force attack. The large Godzilla is then lured out onto a bridge where it is killed by the armed forces. However, the movie concludes with the hatching of an egg that was not destroyed. Another little Godzilla is on the prowl. |
