Overview
A team of marine biologists searches for evidence of a missing link between sea and land animals. Dr. Reed and colleagues, Kay Lawrence and Edwin Thompson head for the Amazon to join an existing expedition team. Upon arriving at the camp, they discover evidence of a vicious attack by an amphibious creature. Their search for skeletal remains of this creature takes them to the Black Lagoon. The team starts collecting samples to take back. Meanwhile, the mysterious Gill-man stalks Kay as she takes a swim. The creature almost gets caught in a fishing net, but escapes. The team discovers its claw. The team is determined to find and capture this Gill-man and bring it back home for further research. Gill-man abducts Kay, forcing an unplanned rescue mission.
