Overview
George Simmons is a successful actor who has just found out that he has a rare blood disorder that will kill him within a year. Believing that he has only a short time left, he decides to go back to his roots as a stand-up comedian. After meeting aspiring comedian, Ira Wright, George hires him as his personal assistant and joke writer. The two begin to work on their careers together and they quickly become friends. Ira helps George cope with his disease and encourages him to tell his estranged friends and family about his condition. When George decides to reconnect with his ex-fiancée, Laura, Ira gets a glimpse of just how egocentric his mentor really is. Together, George and Ira learn life lessons as they deal with matters of life and death.
