Overview
Ren McCormack, a teenager who has lived is whole life in Chicago, is uprooted by his mother when they move to the small midwestern town of Beaumont. McCormack tries to adjust to his new life, but is stunned to learn that his new hometown has banned rock music and dancing. He is determined to rebel and overturn the outdated law in time for the upcoming senior prom. Things aren't made any easier when he starts falling for Ariel, whose father, Reverend Shaw Moore, is the figurehead of the no dancing ordinance. In order to change the minds of the townspeople, he must first convince Reverend Moore that it's time for a change.
