Overview
Hedy Lamarr was a well-known movie star during the heyday of the Hollywood studio system in the 1940s. Few of her fans realize that her life story is as compelling as her on-screen characters. Lamarr's engineering and inventive talents were overshadowed by her beauty, which is a theme that follows her throughout her life. She escapes Nazi Germany and a failing marriage to move to Hollywood, where she continued to create new engineering concepts as well as a successful acting career. Near the end of her life, Lamarr finally began to earn recognition for her revolutionary telecommunications engineering inventions.
