After eight children are murdered, the three accused teenagers, Steven Branch, Michael Moore, and Jason Baldwin are put to trial. Based on a true story, the real people that lived these events are filmed to bring truth to the situation. The documentary is filled with the investigation of the murders, the research performed, and the process of the appeals. The teenagers, also known as The West Memphis Three remained in prison for 18 years after they were convicted of murder. After 18 years, they were released because there was physical evidence that linked the stepfather of one of the victims to the crime scene. His ex-wife, his own nephew, and his former neighbors all made damaging statements against him, which led to the release of The Memphis Three.
