Overview
Based off of the Mortal Instrument series of YA novels by Cassandra Clare, we focus on Clary, a seemingly normal teenage girl who witnesses an apparent murder while at a nightclub-however, her best friend Simon can see neither the killers nor the victim. It soon comes out that the "victim" was a demon, and his killer Shadowhunters, who protect the world from supernatural threats. That Clary can see them at all hints that she has some unknown connection to the Shadowhunters' world-a theory that is confirmed when the Shadowhunters' sworn enemy, Valentine, kidnaps Clary's mother Jocelyn.
