Overview
"Gossip Girl," which is based on books by Cecily von Ziegesar, follows the lives of privileged teens who live on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Best friends Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf live under the constant scrutiny of Gossip Girl, who blogs about their secrets. Blair's jealousy of Serena, who is used to effortlessly getting her way, means they spend plenty of time as frenemies. While they may fight and plot against each other, they always unite against outside threats. They're joined by friends Chuck, a wealthy bad boy, and Nate, Blair's first love. Gossip Girl's focus expands to include Dan, who lives in Brooklyn. Dubbed "Lonely Boy" by Gossip Girl, Dan and his sister, Jenny, struggle to fit in among their wealthy peers.
