Overview
This crime drama is based on the actual life of Richard Wershe Jr. In the 1980s, this teenage boy was living with his divorced father, a factory worker who was struggling to support the family as Detroit's automobile industry collapsed. After he became an undercover informant for the FBI at age fourteen, "White Boy Rick" began to live a glamorous life as a drug dealer before being cut off by law enforcement, and ultimately received life in prison after he was arrested for drug trafficking. His unusually harsh sentence has continued to be a subject of controversy to this day.
