Overview
Denzel Washington plays John Hobbes, a detective lost in the snowy woods. He begins talking about how he almost died. Hobbes has gained notoriety for capturing a serial killer who is sentence to death. He has to track a copycat killer, and when he finds the copycat, he is told that the killer is actually a demon possessing human bodies for the purpose of murder. The demon is trying to start the Apocalypse and leads Hobbes to other murders, including the suicide of a fellow cop thirty years ago. The demon caused the suicide by framing the cop for corruption. Hobbes must stop the demon from possessing other people, as he can possess through a simple touch. Hobbes and the demon fight throughout the whole story, and the ending is not what the viewers would expect.
