Overview
Ray is about a transgender teen coming to terms with his identity, his sexuality and his new role in his family. When he decides to transition from female to male, his decision shocks his family, who deal with his new identity with varying degrees of acceptance. His mother, Maggie, tries her best to be supportive and inclusive. His lesbian grandmother Dolly, however, doesn't understand the complexities of the issue, and his absentee father is even worse. Ray is becoming the person he was always meant to be, but his family might not be able to accept this fact.
