Overview
Dragnet follows the career of Joe Friday, the nephew of the original Joe from the long-running television series. While the movie adopts the law-and-order righteousness of the original series, it takes every chance to twist it into silliness for a modern audience. Joe and his partner Pep Streebeck find themselves investigating a string of odd robberies. At each one, there is a card with just one word: Pagan. Among the thefts, there are animals missing from the zoo and police cars missing from the police station. Since this police drama is really just a comedic farce, the solemn-faced Joe Friday finds himself involved with a pagan ritual that threatens to kill a beautiful girl, if he and Streebeck can't find a way to stop it.
