When a good friend in the Beverly Hills Police Department is shot during an investigation of a series of robberies, Detroit detective Alex Foley flies out to California to assist in the investigation. Once in Beverly Hills, Foley finds out about the "Alphabet Crimes." He poses as an FBI agent to keep the new Beverly Hills police chief off of his investigation. Foley quickly discovers that prominent businessman Maxwell Dent is the man behind all of the crimes. Foley goes through several tense situations trying to track down Dent and his hence-woman Karla Fry, finally catching up to them just as they are about to leave the country for good. The mayor of Beverly Hills commends Foley for his efforts and promotes Foley's friend to police chief after firing the previous belligerent chief. |
