Overview
The movie Men in Black, or MIB, follows a secret government agency that polices and monitors extraterrestrials on Earth. The movie begins with Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) as he “neuralyzes” his old partner, erasing his memory of service to MIB and effectively retiring him. Will Smith plays James Darrel Edwards III, who is recruited by the agency to be Agent K’s new partner, Agent J. Together, they investigate the case of an alien ship that crash-lands onto a small farm. The farmer’s wife describes her husband’s recent strange behavior, and they discover he has been killed and impersonated by an alien called a “Bug”. The Bug is searching for an artifact being held by another species, a very powerful energy source. The race hiding the artifact on Earth, the Arquillians, give MIB an ultimatum. Find the artifact in time, or they will destroy Earth in order to keep it from the Bugs. Agents K and J race against time to find the Arquillian prince hiding the energy source before Earth is destroyed.
