The true story of the horrific “Beltway Sniper” attacks that occurred in 2002 is the inspiration behind this psychological thriller. Abandoned seventeen-year old Lee Malvo was left on his own in his home country, where he met American tourist John Allen Muhammed. The lonely Lee looked to John for support, and a father-son relationship developed. When John left Antigua and returned to Tacoma, Washington, Lee tagged along. As time passed, Lee discovered another side of John, stemming from bitterness over his failed marriage. John’s behavior became increasingly alarming, and he and his friend Ray teach young Lee how to shoot a rifle. Lee’s skill is undeniable and he and John go east on a destructive rampage. |
