Overview
Despite her fame, Princess Diana is unbearably lonely and longs for love. Still dealing with fallout from her divorce from Prince Charles, Diana channels her energy into her campaign to eradicate landmines. This work puts her in the path of Hasnat Khan, a heart surgeon, and the two clash. Eventually, they fall in love, and their affair does not please the royal family. The two are forced to see each other in secret. While Khan loves Diana, their relationship becomes troubled. Due to the pressure of the affair, his family's uncertainty and the prospect of having his professional reputation damaged, Khan pulls away from Diana. Determined to make her lover jealous, Diana arranges for photographers to snap pictures of her on a yacht with Dodi Fayed.
