Overview
Preston Tucker is a maverick designer of automobiles who steadfastly believes he can create a more stylish car for American consumers that is also a much safer vehicle than the major manufacturers of Detroit are producing. Supported by his loyal wife, his children and a small coterie of workers, Tucker sets out to manufacture an eponymous vehicle that he believes will set the car production industry on its ear. He risks his home, his family and his fortune to make his dream of a Tucker automobile come true, but incurs many enemies in the process, including members of Congress as well as car industry leaders in Detroit who set out to ruin him before he succeeds.
