The Cuban Missile Crisis of the 1960's has a deep effect on two socially conscious teenage girls from London. Ginger and Rosa are in their formative years and look to an eclectic group of adults for spiritual guidance. The best friends have always been inseparable, but as their individual personalities start to develop they find themselves at odds with one another. Ginger, partly fueled by her pacifist father, has an unquenchable streak of activism. Rosa is the more worldly of the two, and her differing views on the impending crisis threatens to tear them apart. |
