Overview
During the rise of AIDs in the 1980s, writer and gay activist Ned Weeks attempts to assemble an organization targeted to raise awareness about the large numbers of gay men in New York City affected by the virus. He is assisted by a wheelchair-bound physician calling for abstinence among gay men until more is learned about the spread and prevention of the virus. Together they strive to bring about awareness while encouraging the media and government to pay attention to their plight.
