Samantha Crawford is living a life she could have never seven dreamed of. Living with her horse on a ranch, she is happily married to the love of her life, Billy. The recent publication of a book of her stories completes her dream, but her charmed life is upended when Billy is senselessly murdered. Losing her faith and desire to continue living, Sam is ready to give up when an encounter with two young children changes her life forever. Through the youngsters, she meets back up with a childhood friend, Joe, who is caring for these and other children in a under-funded neighborhood shelter. Watching "Papa Joe," as the children call him, interact with his charges, Sam begins to understand that how we react to the circumstances of our lives defines us more so than the circumstances themselves. |
