Overview
Julia is a widowed nurse living in the small mining town of Cold Rock. Her husband used to be the dying town's only doctor so the medical tasks fall to Julia. She lives on the outskirts of town with her son, David and a nanny who cares for the boy while Julia tends to the few townspeople left. One day, Julia visits Jenny and Carol. They live with their mother and the mother's alcoholic and abusive boyfriend. Carol is mute because of her traumatic childhood and only communicates with others through her journal. Her journal includes sketches of an urban legend called The Tall Man. It's said that he kidnaps children from Cold Rock. Julia wakes one night to find that her nanny has been bound and her son is missing. She must search for her son while investigating claims of The Tall Man.
