Overview
Guy Haines, a tennis star, encounters socialite Bruno Anthony on a train and the two men strike up a conversation. Anthony wants to be rid of his domineering father while Haines is stuck in a loveless marriage with his wife Miriam, who won't grant him a divorce. Anthony offers a solution that can remedy both of their problems: who would suspect two total strangers who takes care the other's problem? Haines dismisses the proposal as a harmless, if disturbing, conversation, but is horrified soon after when Anthony murders Miriam, therefore carrying out his side of the deal. Anthony also expects Haines to do his part and murder his father. He also explains there will be dire consequences if Haines doesn't follow through.
