This story follows the eccentricities of Savannah, where a murder happens and Jim Williams is put on trial. He is a collector of art who has made himself big. He is also a secret homosexual. John Kelso appears in town as a reporter, planning to write a piece on one of Williams' iconic Christmas parties. Kelso is intrigued by Williams' lover, Billy, who is young and violent. Sadly, Billy is killed, so Kelso remains in town for the trial. Kelso meets some of the most eccentric people in the area and participates in some strange ceremonies, such as a ritual in a graveyard at midnight. He is also trying to help solve Billy's murder, which keeps Kelso quite busy throughout the whole story. |
