Father Daniel Barry is a priest in rural Ireland of the 1950s. He has done his job dutifully and well throughout his life, but it was never what he wanted for himself. Indeed, he had little choice in the matter. His parents insisted that he become a priest, and he felt compelled to do as they asked. Now, he has spent a lifetime helping others, but his own happiness always takes a backseat. Just because he is a priest who is forbidden from getting caught up in romance, that doesn't mean that he has not felt that longing, and his deepest desires come to the forefront as he is tempted by a beautiful woman who seems to offer him the chance of a different life.
