Albatross is a tightly written British comedy featuring stand-out performances from a cast comprised of veteran actors and newcomers to the screen. The tale begins when a free-spirited writer takes a job as a housekeeper at a local inn, where she meets the teenage girl in charge of the front desk. The young teenager is the opposite of the brash and sassy older girl, whom she looks up to at first, and a friendship begins. The plot thickens when the girl introduces her parents to her new friend, who shortly after begins an affair with the girl's father. The affair shakes things up a bit, but what could have been a tragic situation is ultimately played for farce, and the characters end as better people.
