Overview
Cher is a modern-day version of the Jane Austen heroine Emma. The cosseted rich girl is very close to her father and is used to living in luxury. Out of boredom combined with a splash of genuine goodwill, she turns to matchmaking as her chief passion after she successfully unites two teachers in an effort to reduce her schoolwork load. Her chief project becomes trying to transform an awkward new student into a popular girl. This involves many components, including a makeover and lessons in how to act in order to attract the popular crowd, but the biggest part of the project is hooking her up with the most eligible bachelor at school - though the new girl is far more interested in somebody else.
