Overview
Leopold Socha is a disingenuous sewer worker in Lvov, Poland. A chance encounter brings him face to face with a group of Jews seeking to escape the Nazi run ghettos. He utilizes the maze of sewers that he knows best to hide the group. At first, he aids the Jews in exchange for money, but Leopold's conscience begins to affect his nefarious ways as he develops a relationship with the escapees. They spend 14 months in the sewer system avoiding continuously escalating danger.
