The United States is on the verge of economic collapse, due, in a large, part to the anti-capitalistic policies of the government, which is catering to a populist movement. Dagny Taggart and Hank Rearden are industrialist trying to keep their companies afloat while preserving the American creative spirit. This becomes increasingly difficult as their allies slowly begin to disappear due to the influence of the mysterious John Galt. Dagny and Hank seek to solve the mystery of identity of this anti-hero while struggling against increasing government regulations and the forces that would turn their businesses into public run institutions. Against this backdrop, they team up to realize an ambitious railroad project. |
