Star 80 unveils the tragic circumstances of the life and death of Playboy Centerfold Dorothy Stratton, whose dreams of Hollywood fame and fortune seem promising when she is first selected to appear in the pages of Hugh Hefner's Playboy Magazine. But her husband Paul Snider, who serves as her manager, becomes increasingly jealous of her rising star as Dorothy's newfound friends and associates encourage her to leave him behind. Her final meeting to cut ties with him both personally and professionally ends tragically with a murder-suicide that makes front page headlines and leaves Dorothy's new love interest bereft. |
