Overview
The Perfect Storm is based on the true story of the fishing trawler the “Andrea Gail” that went down in October, 1991 with all hands lost. The story begins with an introduction of Captain Billy Tyne (George Clooney) and his five man crew, giving you a glimpse into the personal lives of these men and their families. They have had an especially bad run of luck, so Billy Tyne decides to make one more run before the season ends. They find themselves in the middle of an unprecedented storm with a broken ice machine, so the captain and crew make the decision to head back home in spite of the storm to save their catch.
