Overview
Kay is a happily married woman in 1941 who suddenly finds herself on her own after her husband enlists during World War II. Needing money, she begins working at a plant building airplanes and soon befriends Hazel, one of her neighbors. The two women bond and help the other girls get better at the work, while dealing with the mockery of the males on the job. As time passes, Kay becomes lonely and decides to start dating the shift foreman, which leads to personal complications.
