Overview
This candid look at the music of Cuba takes the viewer behind the scenes as promoter Ry Cooder brings together some of the island's most celebrated musicians for a U.S. concert. Scenes from their native land add revealing substance to the words of these aging artists as they prepare for a sold-out concert in the states. Their interviews provide insight into the bond between a culture and its music. The resulting show affords the world a foray into, otherwise forgotten, Cuban folk music.
