Three young criminals who have named themselves The Tender Trio hold up local businesses. These armed robberies provide money and goods to the people of City of God outside of Rio de Janeiro. The three have grown up in the slums around Rio since they were boys. Shaggy, Goose and Clipper split their loot between themselves and the people of the city who hide them and protect them from the authorities. Li'l Dice wants to be a part of the gang and convinces them to rob a motel along with all of its occupants. They give Li'l Dice a gun and the job of lookout. In the middle of the robbery, he fires the gun but for his own purposes. When the gang leaves, he slaughters all the people in the motel. The gang is blamed for the massacre. They split up and go their separate ways. Goose is shot by Li'l Dice. Goose's brother Rocket leaves the City of God and joins a commune of hippies in the 1970s. Li'l Dice changes his name and becomes Li'l Ze and is a feared criminal in the city. Eventually, Rocket and Li'l Ze meet again and Rocket assumes Ze wants to kill him. He's now a photographer. Ze wants Rocket to take photos of him to increase his notoriety. |
