Two convicts, Manny and Buck, make an escape from an Alaskan prison. They get on a freight train in an Alaskan rail yard to escape. Soon after they leave, the engineer on the train dies of a heart attack. Furthermore, the brake shoes on the train are destroyed, creating a potentially fatal situation where no one can stop the train. Another locomotive hostler named Sara is also onboard the train. Warden Ranken chases down the train by helicopter to capture the escaped prisoners. Manny gets to the lead engine, handcuffs Ranken, then uncouples the lead engine from the train to attempt to save Buck and Sara's lives. Manny refuses to stop the lead engine; he would rather die in a crash than be imprisoned again. |
