Overview
Five former friends come of age in the midst of the turbulent 60s. High school sweethearts Laurie and Steve struggle with their humdrum married life amid the excitement of the decade. They are unexpectedly caught up in anti-war activism. Meanwhile, Debbie becomes a hippie and drifts from boyfriend to boyfriend, always picking the shiftiest boy. Terry slogs through the mud and horror of Vietnam, suffering under the oppression of his harsh superior officer. John finally has a chance to achieve his dream when he becomes the favorite to win an important drag race.
