Overview
Bolt is the story of the canine star of an kid's action show. As he has no frame of reference beyond the special effects and characters of that show, Bolt truly believes himself to be a superhero canine and protector of Penny, a young girl, from the machinations of Doctor Calico. While the show is in transit from New York to shoot in Hollywood, Bolt is separated from Penny. With the help from an alley cat, Mittens, and a gerbil, Rhino, Bolt travels cross-country to rescue Penny from "danger" and eventually learns the truth of his situation as an actor in a children's television show.
