Overview
This dramatic musical was inspired by the early days of real life indie record producer Russell Simmons and his Def Jam Recordings company. When up and coming producer Russell Walker finds his bank account won't support pressing new records for some of the hottest acts he has signed to his new label, he makes the wrong move of borrowing the cash from an unsavory street source. Adding to the tension is the fact that both Russell and his brother are trying to win the heart of the same R & B singer. Filmed on location in the Bronx, Krush Groove features a host of musical numbers performed by rappers Run-D.M.C. and The Fat Boys.
