Young district attorney Aloysius "Al" Reilly is assigned by homicide chief Kevin Quinn to investigate a shooting by legendary NYPD detective Mike Brennan. A small-time Puerto Rican criminal has been killed, and Brennan is intimidating witnesses into supporting his claim of self-defense. Brennan is a highly decorated officer with a touch reputation, but there is a dark side to him he keeps hidden from the public, including associations with known mob figures. Reilly's investigation leads him into the world of Puerto Rican organized crime, where he encounters his lost love Nancy Bosch, now the wife of Puerto Rican mob leader Roberto Texador. Eventually, the investigation leads Reilly into a violent confrontation with Texador and Brennan to settle the matter once and for all. |
