Overview
Shaft is a detective who is known far and wide as one of the suavest guys in the business. It's the 1970s, and he is the go-to guy for when anything goes wrong in Harlem. His latest assignment takes him in many different directions. His first task is to square off against a black crime lord by the name of Bumpy, and soon after that he must deal with a crowd of black nationals. Both of these tasks lead him to an ironic alliance with these groups. They may be up to no good, but they're not as rotten as the white mafia that has stooped so low as to kidnap Bumpy's daughter in hopes of getting a lot of money out of him.
