Overview
Bookish, mild-mannered Dexter Cornell is burning out quickly in his dreary post as a college English professor. With his writing muse no longer nurtured by his lovely wife, Jane Kaczmarek, he's losing both marriage and his talent. A strange encounter with a bright yet suicidal student draws Dexter into a dangerous liaison with the alluring Sydney Fuller, but a a night of carousing leads to a grim prognosis in the doctor's office the next day, when Dexter learns he has only 24 hours to live.
