Overview
Bill and Ted are the leaders of a utopian society, they just don't know it yet. As dim-witted teenagers, Bill and Ted do not excel at any academics, but they must pass a history test to remain on course toward their destined future. Arriving from the future in a phone booth, Rufus explains to the boys about their destiny. Thinking of him as a lunatic, Bill and Ted don't believe him until another phone booth appears with their future selves. Convinced that they must pass the history test, Bill and Ted use the phone booth to travel into the past. They learn firsthand about Napoleon and Abraham Lincoln, for example. As they collect historical figures, the boys must be on time for their history test or risk altering the future. The phone booth is their only hope to stay on track.
