Overview
Max is a spoiled little boy with a bad habit of stirring up mischief. One night, he runs away—because no one understands him, and his mother pays more attention to her new boyfriend than to his antics. He also opens the Pandora’s Box of his imagination, never reckoning that it will lead to adventure and a true change of heart. He builds a world of fantasy—a magical forest an ocean away, inhabited by ferocious beasts as only the young can conceive. Rather than devour him, as is their usual habit with strange little animals like Max, they name him King, because he has the power to solve their many problems. But as wonderful as it is to be King, Max realizes that it is also lonely.
